The Association of Dress Historians supports and promotes the study and professional practice of the history of dress, textiles, and accessories of all cultures and regions of the world, from before classical antiquity to the present day.
ADH membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the field of dress history. Membership provides a variety of benefits, including access to exclusive members’ events throughout the year as well as discounted tickets to ADH conferences. ADH members are entitled to apply for a variety of ADH awards, and members can also submit articles and book reviews to The Journal of Dress History.
Membership is only £10 per year and is valid from 1 January to 31 December, inclusive, regardless of when membership commences.
If you would like to become an ADH member, please follow these two steps:
Choose your membership package (1, 3, or 5 years) and make payment via one of the methods listed on this page:

Thank you for becoming an ADH member!
The ADH maintains membership data in order to keep members informed about ADH activities. Membership data is maintained only while the membership is active. The ADH will never disclose members’ information to third parties without permission. When a person receives an email from the ADH, at the bottom of the email there is always advice on how to opt out of ADH email correspondence, should the person wish to do so. Any questions about data can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you pay tax in the UK, the ADH is able to reclaim the tax paid on your ADH membership. This costs you nothing beyond your £10 ADH membership. By filling out the Gift Aid declaration form, below, HMRC will add 25% to your donation at no cost to you. This helps support our charity and the work we do.
If you are interested in making a donation to the ADH beyond a £10 membership, please contact the ADH Treasurer at email@example.com, who can advise you on different ways to donate to our charity, including the creation of a monetary endowment for a specific purpose (such as a student bursary or award) or leaving a legacy to the ADH in your Will.
Thank you for your support of the ADH and scholarship in dress history!
